David’s healthcare journey began on the front line as a critical care nurse and paramedic.
His experiences there shaped his simple but enduring purpose to save lives, improve patient outcomes and create access to breakthrough medicines and treatments.
Throughout his career, David has played a role in helping create access to dozens of life-saving and life-enhancing medicines across global markets, translating scientific innovation into real-world patient outcomes.
In 2019 David joined Avril Henry & Associates as coach, consultant and CEO. He continues to advise biopharmaceutical companies, and corporate and government boards, on introducing ultra-rare disease and paediatric rare cancers treatments into the Australian market.
David’s extensive cross-functional network across global healthcare provides valuable connections and perspectives that help organisations unlock opportunities, overcome barriers and accelerate progress.
After a decade at Roche, David led the operational set-up across ten countries for Actelion and Alexion introducing biological treatments for ultra-rare and life-threatening diseases to the JAPAC region.
His achievements in global biopharmaceuticals over three decades bring with them lived experience of launching and growing organisations, influencing healthcare systems, driving organisational transformation and leading through periods of significant change.
